EZO
About
@ezo_art

A visual artist from Rio de Janeiro, he understood early on, in the 1980s, that art did not need approval to bring self-esteem and joy to people. His work has always sought a direct, free, and emotional connection with the public.
By the 2000s, he began to see more clearly the risks that rapid and unplanned urban growth would pose to both the environment and society. From this awareness, he started incorporating recyclable materials into his artistic practice, uniting aesthetics with sustainability.
Through his expressive use of color, his work seeks to democratize access to art and spark interest in it across all levels of society. Brazilian popular culture is also deeply present in his contemporary production, which, through beauty and color, fosters self-esteem and reinforces the value of the people as they see themselves reflected in the visual arts.

“Ezo’s works don’t ask for permission, they burst onto the scene with the force of a parade, the graphic vibrancy of a carnival bloc, and the symbolic presence of someone who understands the power of exaggeration as both expression and survival. In his visual poetics, the artist reconfigures remnants and memories, constructing images of high chromatic and formal intensity that oscillate between humor and menace, between celebration and wound."
